Domestic electrical work in Reading.
Installations, repairs and alterations across the home. Serving Reading and the surrounding RG postcodes.
City & Guilds qualified · Fully insured · BS 7671
What’s involved
Most of our work is domestic — small jobs and one-day fixes for homeowners across Reading and the surrounding villages. Additional sockets in awkward locations, replacing tired switches, swapping pendants for downlights, sorting out the trip that keeps blowing, hardwiring appliances after a kitchen refit. Every visit ends with the work tested to BS 7671 and a Minor Works or Installation Certificate where required. We aim to leave the room cleaner than we found it.
Pricing guidance
Most domestic call-outs are £90–£250 depending on parts and time on site. We give a fixed price before starting.
Final price is fixed before we start. We do not charge for on-site quotes within the local area.
FAQs
Common questions
Do you provide certificates after the work?
Yes. Anything notifiable (or any new circuit) gets an Electrical Installation Certificate. Smaller alterations get a Minor Works Certificate. You receive a PDF copy by email and a printed copy if you need one for a sale or letting agent. Can you come the same day?
Often, yes — for jobs in Reading, Caversham, Tilehurst, Earley, Woodley and Wokingham. Call early in the morning if you need same-day work. For genuine emergencies (no power, exposed conductors, smell of burning) we prioritise.Do you tidy up afterwards?
Yes. Dust sheets where we drill, hoover after, paint touch-up where we made a chase. We do not leave bare cable ends or screw caps on the floor. Are you insured?
Public liability cover up to £2 million. Certificate available on request.Do I need to be in for the whole job?
Only at the start (to brief and let us in) and at the end (to walk through the work and pay). For longer jobs we are happy with a key arrangement once we have met.
