We needed an electrician to fix our fan in the bathroom. Tee was very quick to respond to our call. Everything went smoothly and he did a great job to replace the fan with a new one. Tee is very friendly, professional and knows exactly what to do.

Common questions

Frequently asked

The questions we get most often. If yours is not here, just call or message — we are happy to talk through anything before quoting.

  • How quickly can you come out for a quote?
Within 2 hours for callouts in Reading, Caversham, Tilehurst, Earley, Woodley and Wokingham during business hours. Site visits for quotes are usually next working day, often same day.
  • Are you qualified and insured?
Yes. Tauseef holds City & Guilds Levels 1, 2 and 3 in Electrical Installation, works to BS 7671 (18th Edition), and the company carries £2 million Public Liability cover. Certificates available on request.
  • Do you provide certificates after the work?
Yes — every job ends with the appropriate certificate. New circuits get an Electrical Installation Certificate, alterations get a Minor Works Certificate, and EICRs get the full BS 7671 Condition Report. PDFs by email and a printed copy if you need one.
  • What areas do you cover?
Reading and the surrounding RG1 to RG10 postcode areas — Caversham, Tilehurst, Earley, Lower Earley, Woodley, Wokingham, Bracknell, Twyford, Pangbourne, Theale, Shinfield, Calcot, Whitley and Winnersh. Outside that area, ask — we sometimes travel further for larger jobs.
  • Do you take small jobs?
Yes. A single socket, a faulty light, a tripping circuit — all fine. We have a minimum call-out fee for small jobs to make the visit worthwhile, but no job is too small.
  • How much does an EICR cost in Reading?
1–2 bed flat: £130–£170. 3 bed house: £170–£220. 4–5 bed house: £220–£300. Includes the certificate, full schedules, and a written remedial quote if anything is coded C1, C2 or FI.
  • Can you install an EV charger?
Yes — 7kW Type 2 chargers on a dedicated circuit with proper protection. Most installs are £750–£1,200 fully fitted; the charger unit is separate. We can advise on Easee, Ohme, Zappi, HIVE and Wallbox among others.
  • Do you take on emergency call-outs?
Yes — 24/7 subject to availability. Call the mobile number for genuine emergencies: no power, exposed conductors, smell of burning. We will tell you honestly if it can wait until morning.
